Proposed cashless gaming card causes division in gambling industry

An industry stakeholder group says pubs and clubs want to be proactive when it comes to stamping out money laundering and problem gambling.

The state government is working to implement a cashless gaming card which has been met with criticism from some lobby groups.

Responsible Gaming Industry Forum chairman Frank Makryllos told Mark Levy the issue shouldn’t be driving a wedge between government and businesses.

“They don’t want people in the clubs laundering money, most clubs I talk with want to be proactive about this.”
